We entered this field as we enter every field: because a need was present, enduring, and insufficiently held. Continuity, our oldest theme, does not end at the boundary of the person. For some individuals, continuity of self is the longest infrastructure project of all, and they deserve an institution willing to hold it with them in whichever direction it leads.
